Summer is back, and it’s time to gather up the whole family and hit the road. Before you do, why not equip your Chevrolet or Buick SUV with some family-friendly accessories to help you get the most out of your journey? Here are just a few you can pick up from your friends at College Chevrolet Buick in Albion, Michigan.
One of the least enjoyable things about taking a road trip: packing up your vehicle. But adding handy accessories to your Chevy or Buick SUV can take out some of the hassle. The new 2022 Buick Encore GX offers a range of cargo organization accessories to help you maximize your space, including an integrated cargo liner that saves some of the mess after a day at the lake. Need extra space for your 2022 Chevrolet Equinox? You can get a hitch-mounted COMBI™ Cargo Box by Thule or hitch-mounted Camber™ bike carriers.
If you have a long drive ahead, having the right tools to keep the peace is essential. Accessories for your Chevrolet or Buick SUV help you maintain that calm in the cabin. You can add a Universal Tablet Holder to your Chevy so that the kids have their own headrest-mounted entertainment system, or you can grab KICKER Tabor2 Bluetooth® headphones for your Buick so that everyone can listen to what they want without having the fight over the dial.
Looking to upgrade your ride before your next great summer adventure? College Chevrolet Buick can help. Visit our showroom and we’ll show you all the cool accessories available for your Chevrolet or Buick SUV.
Late last year, Chevrolet announced it would be expanding popular appearance packages for its SUVs, including Midnight, Sport, and Redline, plus the RS and ACTIV trims. This is due to their wide popularity across the SUVs they have already been offered on.
For example, about 20 percent of all Chevy Trax SUVs are sold with Midnight and Sport packages, so Chevy has decided to expand Midnight and Sport options to the 2021 Traverse. Now more than half of the Chevy portfolio is available with Midnight (an all-black exterior design) and Sport (sportier exterior design) packages.
Further, small and midsize SUVs are sold with the RS trim about one-third of the time, including one-third of all Blazers and a quarter of all Trailblazers. Thus, Chevy is expanding the RS trim to the 2022 Equinox, adding a gloss black mesh grille, 19-inch Dark Android wheels, black badging and roof rails, and RS shift knob, red stitching, and more.
Speaking of red, the Redline is very popular among SUV drivers: 85 percent of all Redline packages were added to Chevy SUVs last year. Chevy is expanding Redline options as a result. The ACTIV trim is also popular on the Trailblazer, so Chevy will continue to offer this trim.
Chevrolet appearance packages are one of the many ways the brand stands out from the competition. Visit College Chevrolet Buick for a better look at our Midnight Edition models and more.
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine has been rated by the EPA at 33 miles per gallon on the highway when equipped with rear-wheel drive. 4-wheel drive brings that number down to 29 mpg highway, still an amazing number for a full-size light-duty pickup truck.
Just because its fuel economy is so impressive doesn’t mean the Silverado isn’t powerful. The Duramax Turbo-Diesel puts out 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of toque, letting the Silverado tow up to 9,300 lbs and haul 1,870 lbs when the truck is equipped with 4WD, providing plenty of power for the vast majority of truck drivers.
Towing and hauling have never been easier than with the new Silverado, which boasts an active thermal management system, an exhaust brake for better control when going downhill, and driver-selectable start/stop technology to help you use even less fuel.
It’s been more than 20 years since Chevrolet offered a diesel engine option in a light-duty pickup truck, but as more and more drivers become conscious of fuel use, efficient engine options like diesel are becoming more sought after. Additionally, 2020 is the first year ever that Chevrolet will offer an inline-six engine in its light-duty full-size pickup line. You will be able to get yours att College Buick Chevrolet, talk to a specialist today.
Chevrolet auctioned off the final seventh-generation Corvette — a handsome black Z06 — earlier this year at the Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The gavel banged at a record-breaking final total of $2.7 million, which is all the more impressive considering that all the proceeds will given to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation builds smart homes for injured service members and pays their mortgages, helping ensure a better life after sacrificing so much for their countries. The foundation also pays off the mortgages of families of first responders killed in the service of others. To date, Tunnel to Towers has 85 homes built or in the process of construction.
“This is going to vibrate across America,” said Frank Siller, chairman and CEO of the Stephen Siller Foundation. “This donation will build at least five homes for our catastrophically-injured veterans to give them their independence and a better quality of life.”
Over the past five years, General Motors and Chevrolet have helped raise more than $10 million for the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. In 2018, $2.2 million was raised, including $925,000 earned in the auction of the first 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 off the production line.
College Chevrolet Buick is proud to support our community at large and proud to represent a brand that does so much for our nation’s heroes.
One of the most recent Chevrolet models to be introduced to the market was the Chevrolet Blazer, and it’s already kicked up quite a storm. Now, Chevrolet is getting ready to reintroduce another classic nameplate with the recent announcement of the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer.
“The Trailblazer’s great design enables more personalization,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet passenger car and crossover marketing. “Trailblazer is a continuation of the design language for Chevy’s crossover family and extends our momentum into one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments.”
The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer will slot between the Trax and the Equinox, carrying with it a winning style inspired by the hot, hot look of the Blazer. It’ll also be one of the best-equipped vehicles in the segment, offering standard Front Pedestrian Braking, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
We know for sure that there will be a Chevrolet Trailblazer RS with a two-tone roof, which will help you stand out even more from the crowd. But beyond that, Chevy is saving most of the juicy details until closer to its early 2020 launch. For all the latest news on the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer and the latest Chevy vehicles, watch this space. When they hit the market, you’ll find them right here at College Chevrolet Buick.

The experts at J.D. Power are dedicated to cutting through the fat and determining the tops in the automotive industry year after year. The measure of an auto brand’s abilities to deliver for its customers can be easily determined based on the number of honors it earns from J.D. Power in a given year. By this standard, no other brand was better in 2017 than Chevrolet, which took home a total of nine awards in J.D. Power’s 2017 Vehicle Dependability (VDS); Initial Quality (IQS); and Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Studies.
“Chevrolet is winning with consumers because our designers, engineers, and dealers are focused on delivering great products and a great ownership experience,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America and brand chief of Global Chevrolet. “This recognition from J.D. Power shows Chevrolet’s strength and underscores the momentum we have across the board.”
Last year, six different Chevrolet vehicles earned J.D. Power awards, which measure “the automotive brands that are continually exceeding customer expectations and leading the way in terms of dependability, quality and overall customer satisfaction.” The Chevrolet Sonic and Silverado HD topped their respective segments in the VDS and IQS, and the Chevrolet Tahoe was tops in the VDS and APEAL Study.
The Chevrolet Camaro also earned top honors in the VDS, the Silverado 1500 topped the full-size pickup segment in the IQS, and the all-new Chevrolet Bolt EV earned the award for its segment in the APEAL Study. Chevrolet also scored big-time in the 2018 J.D. Power Customer Service Index (CSI) Study and 2017 Sales Satisfaction Index Study, which measure customer satisfaction with the brand’s services and experiences.
We’re proud to represent J.D. Power’s most awarded brand, and we’re excited to show you first-hand why Chevrolet earned that very prestigious title. Stop in for a test drive at College Chevrolet Buick and feel the difference that award-winning quality makes.
This month we want to recognize one of our newest employees, Mindi Tompkins! Mindi is our new Office Assistant and has been a part of our team for just a few weeks. She is originally from Jackson, MI and attended Jackson College for school. She stays involved in the town by helping out with the Lumen Christi Cheer Team, as well as cheering on the Detroit Red Wings! When Mindi’s not helping cheer on a team, she enjoys watching Shameless or her favorite show of all time, The Bachelor.
When it comes to cars, the best vehicle Mindi has ever owned is her Kia Optima that she currently drives now. Her dream car would be a yellow Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible so she can cruise down California State Route 1 with the top down. If Mindi could pick her favorite car on our lot, she would choose between either the Chevy Impala or the 2500 Silverado Duramax in all black. Mindi has been around a variety of vehicles, which makes her a great asset to our team.
If you find yourself in our dealership, come stop by and say hi to one of our newest employees. Mindi loves working with a team that is committed to helping each other and their customers. The Saturn Redline Editions were favorites of enthusiasts across the country but, alas, they’ve been gone for years now. While the Saturn brand may be off the market, Chevrolet is looking to revive the Redline Edition Series. The American brand pulled the cover off of several Redline-equipped vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show.
The Chevrolet Redline Edition Series will spread to nine vehicles and offer significant changes in appearance from standard models. All nine automobiles are scheduled to hit the market by the end of 2017, giving enthusiasts another package to look forward to.
The Redline package will feature black wheels with red hash marks, black nameplates with red outline, black grilles, and black bowtie logos. Some vehicles will also receive additional unique styling effects.
Both the Chevrolet Colorado and Silverado made the cut and will feature red tow hooks when equipped with the Redline package. The Camaro will feature red hash marks above the wheels, a nod to the brand’s history on the track.
Other vehicles set to see the Redline effect include the Malibu, Equinox, Traverse, Trax, and Cruze sedan and hatchback. The Silverado Redline is available for order from dealerships now.
We here at College Chevrolet Buick can’t help but be excited for the return of the Redline Edition!
