This past December, the Chevrolet Suburban received a Hollywood star to be placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was the first time in history that an automobile earned an Award of Excellence Star, and of all vehicles the Chevy Suburban has definitely earned it.
The full-size SUV made its first appearance on screen in 1952. Since that debut, the Suburban has appeared in over 1,750 movies and television shows. It’s had a role in at least one TV series per year since 1956, and at least one film a year since 1960. Over 30 of its roles on the silver screen were in award-nominated films.
The industry loves the Suburban for its versatility. It’s had roles as the villain, as the family car, and as everything in between. It can signify importance, or represent the classic American family.
Following in the Suburban’s footsteps is the Chevy Tahoe. This midsize SUV has had its own successful Hollywood story, appearing in at least one television series and one movie a year since the SUV was introduced in 1995.
The Suburban received its star on December 4, 2020, in an unveiling ceremony at ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard where the SUV was honored for its 67 years of work in Hollywood.
