Jason Upthegrove is the Business Manager here at College Chevrolet Buick and a very important part of our team! He has been with us for almost a year, but has been working in the auto industry for 22 years! He’s currently a resident of Albion, but traces his roots to Lima, Ohio. He was a Business Administration major at Mt. Vernon University which is located in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.
Currently, Jason drives a 1992 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight, but his dream car is a 1964 Cadillac Convertible because he was a big Ricardo Tubbs fan from the hit 80’s TV show, Miami Vice. His favorite car that he’s ever owned is a 1977 Caprice Classic and his favorite Chevy vehicle is an Astro Van. He says that a Corvette best-matches his personality because he’s sleek, powerful, desired by many, but unattainable for most (sounds like a modest guy, huh!?). Jason’s least favorite car brand is Chrysler.
When not at work, you can find Jason spending time with his children, grandchildren, reading books, or participating in Community Theater. His favorite sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his favorite TV shows include “Game of Thrones” and “The Wire”.
Jason Upthegrove’s favorite part about working here at College Chevy is the customer interaction. In his words, each day presents an opportunity for positive connections. We invite you to stop by the dealership and meet our Business Manager, Jason! We’re sure you’ll share a few laughs with this outgoing team member of ours!
Chevy is the first automaker in the industry to develop this kind of technology, similar to the technology used in a Boeing 787. In the jet, in-flight messages can be sent to ground crews that alert them of parts that need inspection before the plane hits the ground.
OnStar Proactive alerts work similarly, by continuously monitoring the health of the starter motor, fuel pump, and 12-volt battery. If anything isn’t functioning as it should, you’ll get an alert from OnStar instructing you to take your car in for service.
Currently, this predictive technology is available to OnStar subscribers who own a 2016 Chevy Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Corvette, and Equinox.
“With Proactive Alerts, we now can offer customers even greater peace-of-mind of taking the guesswork out of when to service their vehicle,” said Steve Hollan, chief technologist for Vehicle Health Management at General Motors.
With these updates, you’ll get alerts on your vehicle’s health every time your car is started, and while you’re driving.
Now behind the wheel, you’ll be able to fix your car before you even notice something’s wrong!
