Chevy marketing is reaching a new audience base by creating trailers that are running before movies in theaters.
The current 60-second trailer will strike a chord with fans of classic horror movies. Created by acclaimed director Sam Raimi, the trailer has an ominous feel with suspenseful music. In it, the character is constantly on the verge of danger. There are spooky ghosts, creaking stairs, and unnatural lighting under doors.
Usually in a horror movie, the audience can often see pitfalls that the character misses but cannot do anything to stop the bad things from happening. In the trailer, the character starts to open a door that will most likely lead to trouble when the audience yells, “Stop!” The theatergoers tell the character to leave and warn her of the inevitable threat.
The idea behind the trailer is that it is helpful to have warnings before bad things happen. In this case, the fictional character does not open the door and successfully leaves the creepy mansion. Then, the trailer switches to the advanced warning system on the Chevrolet Malibu and Cruze.
Advanced warnings when driving are extremely helpful in staying safe. We at College Chevrolet Buick are proud to offer these Chevy vehicles that help the driver stay extra safe. For more information on the Malibu and Cruze’s advanced warning systems, visit us and we’ll show you how you’ll stay safer with Chevy’s latest technology.
2015 is over, and while the average person is looking forward to leaving the past behind and improving themselves, many companies like Google are analyzing and evaluating the previous year’s data. That’s where the 2015 Google Year in Search comes in. Employees behind the wildly popular search engine take a look at the year’s most popular searches and reveal this information to the public.
This year, Google revealed that two Chevrolet vehicles—the Malibu and the Silverado—were the most-searched cars in the automotive industry.
That’s not the only good news for Chevy, either. While the Chevrolet Malibu was the most-searched car and the Chevrolet Silverado was the most popular truck, four vehicles total made Google’s top ten list. The Colorado and the Camaro also made the list, in eighth and fourth place respectively. Chevrolet said the data is an excellent sign, as consumers are displaying a large amount of interest in the products of the company.
The world is shifting into a more digital age. Google Year in Search results are indicative of a wide-ranging demographic of potential buyers. The data collected by the search engine also showed that 69% of customers were more influenced by YouTube ads than any other advertising campaign, including television commercials.
Get excited. The 2016 Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid is coming and it’s bringing the best fuel economy in the segment with it. Based on the all-new 2016 Malibu we already love, the hybrid models provides a combined rating of 47 mpg and is scheduled to arrive here at College Chevrolet Buick during the spring of 2016.
Taking a page from the Chevy Volt playbook, the Malibu Hybrid features regenerative braking and the two-motor drive unit found in its sister plug-in hybrid electric vehicle with slight modifications. The Malibu also adds an all-new 1.8-liter engine. Together, the Malibu’s powertrain offers 182 horsepower and 45 miles per gallon on the highway. The car can travel up to 55 mph on all-electric power.
“Fuel efficiency is important to our customers, especially in the midsize segment and with an estimated 48 mpg city rating, the Malibu Hybrid delivers,” said president of General Motors, Dan Ammann.
The Malibu Hybrid was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show earlier this month.
Stay tuned for more information on the model as it is released. We will be sure to let you know a more specific date as to when to expect the vehicle to land in our showroom.
Offering parents a way to encourage their kids to drive safely, Chevrolet recently developed the Teen Driver System. This advanced program keeps track of driving habits, limits access to the radio, and much more. The Teen Driver System is aiming at making it easy for new drivers to learn how to be safe.
According to Chevy, the system will premiere in the 2016 Malibu. The Chevy Teen Driver System will mute audio from the car’s speakers, limit options if front seat occupants aren’t buckled up, and provide warnings when a vehicle is travelling faster than it should.
“We developed this system so parents could use it as a teaching tool with their kids–they can discuss and reinforce safe driving habits,” said General Motors safety engineer MaryAnn Beebe. “As a mother of two, I know anything that has the potential of keeping one’s family safer is of great value to parents.”
The new system will also allow people to see various figures on their driving habits. These include distance driven, maximum speed, and anytime a safety alert goes off, including speed limit options. This new option is perfect for any new driver, and we can’t wait to offer it at College Chevrolet Buick.
Making something sturdy and reliable doesn’t always require lots of innovation and technology—sometimes, all it takes is a look back at the past.
To ensure the next-generation 2016 Malibu can handle the world’s worst roads (even if it never needs to drive on them), Chevrolet looked at data collected over four decades from across the globe.
Since 1972, data-collection boxes have been placed in cars around the world, which record all kinds of things that happen to it, like the harshness and frequency of every bump, shudder, and jounce it experiences.
Chevrolet used this kind of data to build unique road courses and engineer durability-testing machines, which could be used to test the 2016 Malibu’s durability through harsh abuse. As a result, the car has logged in more than 1.5 million miles of driving in controlled environments and an open roads, including in scorching-hot Arizona and freezing-cold Northern Canada.
And that means when you drive off in a 2016 Malibu from College Chevrolet Buick, you know it’ll take you anywhere.
Are you looking for something that is both fuel-efficient and family-friendly? Look no further than the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. According to AutoGuide, it is one of the top ten most fuel-efficient non-hybrid family sedans.
It all stems from its engine. The new Malibu is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and features a six-speed automatic transmission. It is able to get 25 mpg in the city* and 36 mpg on the highway* which edges out its Ford rival, the Fusion. The Malibu offers efficiency, yes, but it is also able to produce the power you need to get around town. The base 2.5-liter makes 196-horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. Drivers can also opt up to the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder for a little added power. It makes 295-horsepower and 295 lb-ft. of torque.
For the new model year, the Malibu also features Stop/Start technology which shuts the engine off when the car comes to a complete stop. This definitely increases your fuel economy giving you more mpgs and more money in your pocket.

The Malibu is celebrating its 50th anniversary for the 2014 model year! We recognize the Malibu for its advanced technologies, great fuel economy, and excellent value. Recently the Malibu added safety to its long list of attributes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently gave the 2014 Malibu the distinction of being a Top Safety Pick+.
In order to receive this recognition, the Malibu had to pass IIHS’ rigorous safety tests including frontal crash prevention and crash worthiness. The Malibu was evaluated on its ability to protect occupants from a collision. The IIHS also noted the available Advanced Safety Package available on 2LT trim levels and above for its frontal crash protection system. This system uses advanced technologies to monitor the distance between the Malibu and the car in front of it. If the system senses a possible collision, it will alert the driver.
The Malibu has been a Top Safety Pick for the past four years, but this is the first year it has received a Top Safety Pick+ distinction. If you would like to know more about the safety features of the 2014 Chevy Malibu, stop by our dealership near Jackson, Michigan!
The 2014 Chevy Malibu has achieved a milestone in safety by being awarded the highest possible 5-star Overall Vehicle Score by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) during their New Car Assessment Program.
Chief among the reasons for the Malibu’s NHTSA 5-star safety test success are the numerous active and passive safety features that are both standard and available for the midsize sedan. The Malibu offers an ultra-high-strength steel safety cage, rollover protection, and 10 airbags—including knee airbags for driver and front passenger—standard.
In addition, available active safety features make the Malibu one of the safest and most intelligent vehicles on the road. These features include Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Side Blind Zone Alert, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Every Malibu also comes pre-packaged with six months of OnStar service.
“Safety is an increasingly important consideration for new vehicle buyers, especially for those in the midsize segment,” said Gay Kent, General Motors general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness, in a press release. “The customer is at the center of our day-to-day operations and when we design vehicles, it’s their safety that we have in mind.”
Here at College Chevy, we know that safety is of the utmost importance to you; that’s why we are proud to sell Chevrolet vehicles, which is the most 5-star safety-awarded vehicle lineup on the road today. To test drive one of these dependable and exciting vehicles, stop in and see us today!
