Chevy marketing is reaching a new audience base by creating trailers that are running before movies in theaters.
The current 60-second trailer will strike a chord with fans of classic horror movies. Created by acclaimed director Sam Raimi, the trailer has an ominous feel with suspenseful music. In it, the character is constantly on the verge of danger. There are spooky ghosts, creaking stairs, and unnatural lighting under doors.
Usually in a horror movie, the audience can often see pitfalls that the character misses but cannot do anything to stop the bad things from happening. In the trailer, the character starts to open a door that will most likely lead to trouble when the audience yells, “Stop!” The theatergoers tell the character to leave and warn her of the inevitable threat.
The idea behind the trailer is that it is helpful to have warnings before bad things happen. In this case, the fictional character does not open the door and successfully leaves the creepy mansion. Then, the trailer switches to the advanced warning system on the Chevrolet Malibu and Cruze.
Advanced warnings when driving are extremely helpful in staying safe. We at College Chevrolet Buick are proud to offer these Chevy vehicles that help the driver stay extra safe. Later this year, Chevrolet will launch a new hatchback version of the popular Cruze sedan. Introduced at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the 2017 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback offers a way to get everything you love about the Cruze sedan, with extra cargo room and no downsides, in one sporty package that will be hard to resist staring at.
It’ll be powered by a 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder that makes 153 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque—plenty of grunt to carry all of the loot you can pack in its 22.7-cubic-feet trunk. If you fold the rear seats, cargo space more than doubles up to 47.2 cubic feet. All of that without compromising the Cruze’s renowned 40 mpg rating on the highway.
The 2017 Chevrolet Cruze hatchback will launch at College Chevrolet Buick this fall with two trims and, more importantly, the sporty RS package. We’re certainly looking forward to it!
Sometimes words just aren’t enough.
In a recent Chevrolet press release announcing the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze, the company revealed, “Words alone can’t describe the new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze…so to celebrate its upcoming reveal, the media advisory is being issued in emoji.” Emojis. You know, those little cartoon pictures in text messages used to emulate a feeling or emotion.
Chevrolet’s emoji press press release included hearts, cars, rainbows, and a plethora of other icons for readers to decipher. In fact, the auto company encouraged translators of the pic-script to put their interpretations online using #ChevyGoesEmoji. Want to see how your emoticon translation skills are? The new Chevrolet Cruze, which was unveiled several days after the press release, sports an athletic build, updated technology, and improved fuel economy, and according to the emojis – will put a big smile on your face.
