Notable Features of the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado in Albion, MI

The Chevrolet Colorado is getting even better for the 2023 model year. It enters its third generation with an all-new design that promises to be more capable, more versatile, and stronger than before. The redesigned 2023 Chevrolet Colorado will be coming to College Chevrolet Buick in early 2023. Here are some of the features we are looking forward to the most.

    Engine and towing performance

All trim levels come standard with the proven 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. However, the engine output will vary based on your selected trim. The standard turbo has an output of 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. The Turbo Plus delivers 310 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, while the Turbo High-Output offers an impressive 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.

With the right equipment, the Colorado can tow up to 7,700 pounds with this new engine.

    Bed versatility

One of the most important features of any truck is its bed. The Colorado is available with an innovative, segment-first built-in tailgate storage drawer. When the tailgate is open, you can open a door to reveal a spacious cargo area. This is ideal for storing tools or emergency equipment. With its built-in drain, you can even use it to keep drinks cold at your next tailgate party.

No matter which model you choose, every Colorado bed comes standard with at least eight fixed tie-downs. You can up to nine more for a total of 17.

Chevrolet Appearance Packages Now Offered on SUVs

Late last year, Chevrolet announced it would be expanding popular appearance packages for its SUVs, including Midnight, Sport, and Redline, plus the RS and ACTIV trims. This is due to their wide popularity across the SUVs they have already been offered on.

For example, about 20 percent of all Chevy Trax SUVs are sold with Midnight and Sport packages, so Chevy has decided to expand Midnight and Sport options to the 2021 Traverse. Now more than half of the Chevy portfolio is available with Midnight (an all-black exterior design) and Sport (sportier exterior design) packages.

Further, small and midsize SUVs are sold with the RS trim about one-third of the time, including one-third of all Blazers and a quarter of all Trailblazers. Thus, Chevy is expanding the RS trim to the 2022 Equinox, adding a gloss black mesh grille, 19-inch Dark Android wheels, black badging and roof rails, and RS shift knob, red stitching, and more.

Speaking of red, the Redline is very popular among SUV drivers: 85 percent of all Redline packages were added to Chevy SUVs last year. Chevy is expanding Redline options as a result. The ACTIV trim is also popular on the Trailblazer, so Chevy will continue to offer this trim.

Chevrolet appearance packages are one of the many ways the brand stands out from the competition. Visit College Chevrolet Buick for a better look at our Midnight Edition models and more.

  • Multi-Flex Tailgate | Albion, MI

2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Features New Multi-Flex Tailgate

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features a new Multi-Flex Tailgate. The feature, available on each of the eight trim levels of the 2021 model, has six functions.

    • The primary gate works like a traditional gate. You can operate it via the key fob. A button inside the truck or on the gate also lets you lower it into position.
    • A load stop built-into the primary gate helps secure extra-long items.
    • You can reach further into the bed using the folded-down inner gate.
    • The inner gate boasts a full-width step that can bear the weight of 375 pounds.
    • Second-tier items will stay in place thanks to the inner gate load stop feature.
    • The inner gate seconds as an onsite work surface.

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 also features upgraded trailering technologies to deliver more safety alerts and comprehensive views of the bed and your trailer.

Two of the most efficient engines offered in the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the 2.7-liter turbo and 3.0-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel engine — allow the 2021 model to tow heavier weights than the 2020 model could.

The combination of the new Multi-Flex Tailgate, upgraded trailering tech, and greater towing capacities make the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 a versatile, strong, and safe option for work and play.

  • Chevrolet Suburban

Chevrolet Suburban Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

This past December, the Chevrolet Suburban received a Hollywood star to be placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It was the first time in history that an automobile earned an Award of Excellence Star, and of all vehicles the Chevy Suburban has definitely earned it.

The full-size SUV made its first appearance on screen in 1952. Since that debut, the Suburban has appeared in over 1,750 movies and television shows. It’s had a role in at least one TV series per year since 1956, and at least one film a year since 1960. Over 30 of its roles on the silver screen were in award-nominated films.

The industry loves the Suburban for its versatility. It’s had roles as the villain, as the family car, and as everything in between. It can signify importance, or represent the classic American family.

Following in the Suburban’s footsteps is the Chevy Tahoe. This midsize SUV has had its own successful Hollywood story, appearing in at least one television series and one movie a year since the SUV was introduced in 1995.

The Suburban received its star on December 4, 2020, in an unveiling ceremony at ceremony on Hollywood Boulevard where the SUV was honored for its 67 years of work in Hollywood.

  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Named 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year

The first-ever, mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was named the 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year, marking the third time in its 66-year history that the Corvette has won the award.

The Corvette previously won it in 1984 and 1998. Tadge Juechter, Corvette executive chief engineer and Michael Simcoe, General Motors vice president of Global Design, were present to accept the award at MotorTrend’s headquarters in El Segundo, California.

The mid-engine Corvette can reach 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds when it’s equipped with the Z51 Performance Package. It’s also powered by the next-generation 6.2-liter Small Block V8 LT2 engine, which delivers 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. These features make it the fastest, most powerful entry-level Corvette to date.

The reimagined iconic vehicle has exotic proportions and a modern design inspired by racing and aeronautics that brings a raised level of quality, customization, technology and craftsmanship to the Corvette.

It’s tough to live up to such great expectations with such a legendary car, but judging by the 2020 MotorTrend Car of the Year award, it’s safe to say such expectations should be surpassed once production begins on the Corvette in February 2020. Expect to see it then at College Chevrolet Buick!
