Save Gas with a V6
2014 Chevy Silverado

Think you need a V8 in your pickup to get the job done? The Chevy Silverado says “you don’t have to buy a V8” with its all-new 4.3-liter EcoTec3 V6 engine. The 2014 Silverado pickup featuring the V6 engine provides all of the power and torque you need, without breaking the bank on your gas bill. This 4.3-liter engine makes 285 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque while still getting an astonishing 18 mpg city and 24 mpg highway.*

In 2004, the Chevy Silverado featuring the 4.8-liter V8 engine got 285-horsepower and made 295 lb-ft of torque. Its competitors, the Ford F-150 featuring a 4.6-liter V8 engine made 231 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque while the Ram 4.7-liter V8 made 235 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque (2004 models). Both of these models from 2004 get under 19 mpg on the highway.* These comparisons show just how far the pickup truck segment has come over the past 10 years.

Chevrolet is proud of their introduction of a capable V6 engine that they claim got its roots from the old small-block.
