Equinox Joins Malibu in Safety Rankings

2014 Chevy Equinox available at College Chevy!

Last week we reported that the 2014 Chevy Malibu earned high marks for safety from the IIHS, this week we are proud to say that the 2014 Chevy Equinox joined the Malibu by earning a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The Equinox is one of the only midsize SUVs to earn this distinction from the IIHS which shows Chevrolet’s commitment to safety.

The rigorous experiences that the Equinox had to endure really tested the endurance and stability of the SUV. The Equinox had to endure a frontal crash at 40mph designed to replicate crashing into a utility pole along with various other crashes. The Equinox had to receive a “Good” rating in four out of five tests and receive at least an “Acceptable” rating on the fifth test. The Equinox received “Good” ratings across the board passing the tests and receiving the top honor of Safety Pick +.

The Equinox offers a vast amount of safety features including a six standard air bag system, rear vision camera, available forward collision alert, available lane departure warning, and available park assist. All of these features make it a great and safe family vehicle. If you would like to know more about the Equinox stop by our dealership near Battle Creek, Michigan!

Malibu Earns High Marks for Safety

2014 Chevrolet Malibu

The Malibu is celebrating its 50th anniversary for the 2014 model year! We recognize the Malibu for its advanced technologies, great fuel economy, and excellent value. Recently the Malibu added safety to its long list of attributes. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) recently gave the 2014 Malibu the distinction of being a Top Safety Pick+.

In order to receive this recognition, the Malibu had to pass IIHS’ rigorous safety tests including frontal crash prevention and crash worthiness. The Malibu was evaluated on its ability to protect occupants from a collision. The IIHS also noted the available Advanced Safety Package available on 2LT trim levels and above for its frontal crash protection system. This system uses advanced technologies to monitor the distance between the Malibu and the car in front of it. If the system senses a possible collision, it will alert the driver.

The Malibu has been a Top Safety Pick for the past four years, but this is the first year it has received a Top Safety Pick+ distinction. If you would like to know more about the safety features of the 2014 Chevy Malibu, stop by our dealership near Jackson, Michigan!

Buick Records Best October Sales Since 2003

October marked Buick’s 18th consecutive month of increased U.S. retail sales, bringing the brand ever-closer to a two-year streak of success. Retail sales were at a 25% year-over-year gain—a record since 2003—and total sales were at a 31% gain—a record since 2004.

The Buick Regal continued its trend of increasing sales by posting a 47% total increase year-over-year, showing that the model is not only an established member of the sports luxury vehicle market but also a strong competitor among the likes of BMW and Mercedes. A refreshed version of the 2014 Regal will begin arriving this month here at College Chevrolet Buick.

The all-new Encore not only sold over 3,000 units this month but also racked up several awards, including “Highest Ranked Subcompact CUV,” in J.D. Power’s Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study, “Highest Ranked Subcompact CUV in Initial Quality (in a tie),” and a 2013 Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Also fresh on our lot is the redesigned 2014 LaCrosse, the Regal’s less sporty but more luxurious counterpart. With its large suite of premium features and its fourth consecutive Consumer Guide Automotive Best Buy award, we are positive that like the rest of Buick’s lineup, the LaCrosse will be a hit among any and all luxury vehicle aficionados.
