Employee Spotlight: Ben Snyder

Ben Snyder

Ben Snyder

Ben Snyder is the Internet Manager here at College Chevrolet Buick and a graduate of Kalamazoo College. He’s been with us for almost a year and has been working in the auto industry for 5 years. Ben was born in Aurora, Colorado but was raised right here in Albion.

Ben’s all-time dream car is the Batmobile, because well, who wouldn’t want to drive the Batmobile? He currently drives a Buick LaCrosse and a Chevy Equinox. His favorite car (which also happens to be the worst car he’s ever driven) was his ’91 Chevy Cavalier. The trunk leaked, the roof was caved in, the windshield was cracked, the brakes were soft, and it smelled terrible, but it was Ben’s introduction to freedom! Ben’s favorite Chevy vehicle is the upcoming 50th Anniversary 2017 Chevy Camaro. He says that if he were a car, he would be a 2016 Chevy Silverado High Country. Ben says he’s large and in charge on the outside, but comfortable and thoughtful on the inside – much like the truck!

When not hard at work as our Internet Manager, Ben enjoys spending time with his kids. He has a 2-year-old and a 9-year old that love to play with Play-Doh and Legos. He also enjoys watching Michigan sports (GO BLUE!) and also enjoys Game of Thrones.

His favorite part about working here at College Chevrolet Buick is the people. He thinks we have the best staff around (which we do!) and the customers make it fun to come into work every day! Stop by our dealership and say “Hello” to our teammate Ben the next time you’re out and about!

Employee Spotlight: Kris Raatz – Body Shop Manager

Kris RaatzWe’d like to take the time to introduce you to Kris Raatz our new Body Shop Manager! Kris is from and currently lives in Lansing, Michigan. He attended college at Lansing Community College. Although he is new to College Chevy, Kris has worked in the automotive industry for 22 years.

Currently, Kris drives a Chevy Cruze, but his favorite Chevy vehicle is a 1969 Chevy Camaro. One day, he would love to own a 1957 Chevy (and says that everyone else should have that dream too!). His favorite car that he’s ever owned was a 1957 Cadillac DeVille. His least-favorite car he’s ever driven was a Toyota. He says that a Chevy truck would match his personality best because he considers himself to be hard-working and dependable.

When he isn’t hard at work in our Body Shop, Kris enjoys playing golf, working around the house, going to the beach, and sitting around a bonfire with some good friends. He also enjoys cheering on his favorite sports team, the Detroit Tigers.

Kris’ favorite part about working here at College, is being able to make cars look as good as new! He loves seeing customers smile once they see that their vehicles looks like it did before there was an accident. If you have been in an accident, please consider bringing your vehicle in to Kris and the rest of the College Chevy team! We’d be happy to help you get back on the road!

Wes has over 21 years of automotive industry experience and we’re happy to have him back on board! Wes is a graduate of Concord High School and Jackson College. Welcome Brian Eberhard!

Brian Eberhard

Meet Brian – Our New Body Shop Manager!

All of us at College Chevrolet Buick would like to welcome Brian Eberhard, our new Body Shop Manager, to our team! Brian brings tons of experience to the position, having worked in parts departments and body shops for over two decades.

Before working at College, Brian worked at another Chevrolet dealership for 20 years. While there, he worked in the parts department for 18 years and then moved to the body shop as a Production Supervisor. Brian then moved to Kansas for 6 months to be with his family and took on the role of Production Supervisor at another body shop. With all of his experience, we knew he would be the perfect fit for the Body Shop Manager position here at College Chevy!

Born and raised in Battle Creek, Brian is very familiar with the Albion area. He has quickly found a place within our team, and he didn’t waste any time establishing a great rapport with his associates and making new friends.

Brian is a family man, so when he’s not hard at work, he likes to spend time with his family.  He also enjoys working on various projects around the house. One of the biggest reasons we knew Brian was perfect for the job was that, just like us, he loves vehicles!  His dream car is a truck—a 4×4 Chevrolet Crew Cab.  He figures that it would be the ideal vehicle for doing weekend mud runs, a favorite pastime of his.

So far, Brian’s favorite part of his new job is getting to know everyone.  From there, his goal is to take the body shop at College Chevrolet Buick to “the next level” and help the business grow. We are happy that Brian joined our team and look forward to his success in the future! Please join us in welcoming Brian to our team!

Buick Ranks High Among Customers

Buick Ranks High Among CustomersUsing the J.D. Power 2014 U.S. Customer Service Index (CSI) Study, Buick was ranked the highest among mass-market brands. This is a huge honor as this ranking was decided upon by customer satisfaction.

J.D. Power studied responses from people who have owned their Buick vehicle one to five years. The survey honed in on the following areas: service quality, service initiation, service advisor, service facility, and vehicle pick-up. Buick ranked the highest among the other brands studied.

Duncan Aldred, U.S. VP of Buick and GMC, is proud of this honor. “Our dealers have an excellent focus on putting our customers first.”

Here at College Chevrolet Buick, we always try to put our customers first! We are committed to selling a quality product that will be reliable for years to come. If you have had a great experience with us, please consider sharing it on our Google+ or Facebook pages. We love to hear what our customers have to say!

2014 Chevy Traverse is a “worthy choice” According to Edmunds

The 2014 Chevy Traverse is in the Large Crossover SUV category and is one of top picks for a family-friendly vehicle. Edmunds describes the Traverse as a “worthy choice” and a “sensible choice” when comparing this model to other large Crossover SUVs.

The 2014 Traverse is a great Chevy model if you are looking for third row seating and plenty of room. The Traverse can seat up to eight people and their baggage comfortably. You also have the option to fold the second and third rows of seats down to fit 116 cubic feet of cargo!

Along with great capacity specs, the 2014 Traverse offers other family-friendly options in their four various trims. These options include:

  • Rear vision Camera
  • Color touch radio
  • OnStar® with 6 months of Directions and Connections® Plan

And the winner is… the 2014 Chevrolet Impala!

After a full redesign for 2013 the all-new 2014 Chevrolet Impala continues to impress. So much so that Consumer Reports rated the Impala as the best sedan on the market.

It has been 20 years since an American sedan has claimed this honor.

On the Consumer Reports scale of 0-100, the 2014 Chevrolet Impala earned an impressive 95! This is a far cry from the Impalas of the past and one of the highest-rated vehicles ever by Consumer Reports.

While the Impala has always been a spacious and comfortable full-sized sedan, some questioned its performance. The previous Impala was frequently seen as more of a company fleet car or rental car.

In an always popular class, Chevrolet engineers took the Impala and completely over hauled the sedan.  With a much more luxurious and refined interior and exterior, and enhanced performance thanks to a 3.6L V6, the 2014 Impala has been a welcome addition to the Chevy fleet.

Known for being an affordable full-size sedan, the Impala is more than impressive with a base price of under $27,000.

Consumer Reports chief auto tester, Jake Fisher, had this to say about the 2014 Chevrolet Impala, “It really doesn’t fall down in any area, and it does a lot of things really well.” He also stated, “The car rides better than a Lexus ES. It’s quieter than many luxury cars. It’s extremely roomy.”

If you haven’t had a chance to test drive the new Impala know is a great time to get down to College Chevy and get inside the 2014 Impala. GM certainly hit the mark with this one.

Hot Rod Power Tour® Returns with Chevy Performance Cars

Chevy started this June off by showing off an impressive line of current high-performance cars and concept cars.

This tour kicks off in Arlington, TX on June 1st and ends just outside of Charlotte, NC on June 7th.  Check out the full schedule on the Power Tour site.

Chevrolet gives car enthusiasts a treat with a truly unique custom vehicle, the Hot Wheels® 1967 Chevy Camaro Concept. This concept is a full sized interpretation of one of the original sixteen Hot Wheels® vehicles that made their debut in 1968.

The Camaro isn’t the only special treat for Chevy fans. Each stop on the tour Chevrolet will bring along the Chevrolet Performance trailer. The trailer will have representatives on hand to answer questions on how to transform their Chevy performance vehicles. Chevrolet’s Performance trailer also includes up-close looks at several performance engines like the LSX454 and ZZ383; not to mention the trailer will feature a partial chassis installed with an LS376/575 engine and 4L85E transmission, and much more.

“Chevrolet Performance has been part of the Hot Rod Power Tour for more than a decade and we’re excited to demonstrate our performance vehicles, crate engines and other performance products out on the highway,” said Jim Campbell, GM U.S. vice president of Performance Vehicles & Motorsports. “The Power Tour also gives car builders and other enthusiasts a closer look at our products and the opportunity to discuss with our engineers and product experts how to integrate them in their projects.”

If you’re headed down south next week and you happen to be near an area that’s a Power Tour stop we recommend you check it out. But if you can’t make it check back in to our blog or check out our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CollegeChevroletBuick) for pictures.
