If you tuned in to Super Bowl XLIX, then you were one of millions who came close to having a heart attack right before the game. Chevrolet pranked the Super Bowl viewing audience with a clever ad called “Blackout.”
This ad tricked viewers into thinking they were watching a live feed of them game, only to experience technical difficulties and then a blank screen. After a few tense seconds, the words, “What would you do if your TV went out?” appeared on the screen. The ad then let viewers know they could stream the game inside the all-new 2015 Chevrolet Colorado with its built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi if that ever happened.
“When you have a groundbreaking product like the Chevy Colorado, you must deliver groundbreaking advertising like we are today.” said Paul Edwards, US vice president of Chevrolet Marketing, in a statement.

If you’re looking to take a late summer road trip, stop by and check out our inventory here at College Chevrolet Buick before you do—because Buick is looking to completely transform the way an American family takes a road-trip. If you remember the days when you had to pack the backseat full of cumbersome toys just to keep the kids entertained, it’s time to breathe a sigh of relief—thanks to the 4G LTE OnStar capable vehicles in the current Buick lineup. These vehicles, like the 2015 Buick LaCrosse, allow you to set up your route, follow navigation, and even connect up to seven mobile devices to the car’s Wi-Fi spot at once.
“Road trips today are greatly changed from the ones we took with our families 20, 10 or even five years ago,” said John McFarland, director, Global Connected Customer. “Navigation alone makes choosing stops much easier, and now with built-in connectivity, travelers have an abundance of information and entertainment at their fingertips.”
Other Buick vehicles will soon follow the LaCrosse down the 4G LTE path, helping your family stay connected, not just to each other, but to the outside world, from any and all summer road trip destinations. You can still pack trunks full of swimsuits, clothes, and the like—but leave those unwieldy toys at home. Buick’s got you covered.
A few months ago, Chevrolet announced ago that they would be including 4G LTE abilities to some models for the 2015 model year. At the DENT Conference in Idaho, Buick announced that they too would be offering 4G LTE. With this new technology, drivers will be able to turn their car into a mobile hotspot allowing internet surfing and web browsing from inside the vehicle.
4G LTE will be available through OnStar and will require a subscription and data plan, although prices have not yet been determined. The hotspot will be able to allow up to seven devices to connect simultaneously giving each of your passengers internet access from their own devices. Along with internet, this new addition will offer in-dash app integration and also connect you to your vehicle diagnostics.
For the 2015 model year, the LaCrosse, Regal, Verano, and Encore are said to have LTE capabilities and all 2016 Buick models will include the new feature.
