• Look Out 2012, Here Comes 2013

Well folks, we’ve reached the final weekend of 2012. A year that included the United States of America being introduced to the Chevy Spark, the release of the final line of Chevy Avalanche, the Detroit Tigers making the world series, Megatron breaking Jerry Rice’s receiving yardage record, the unveiling of the new look Silverado, Buick’s newest member, the Encore, has begun production, and so much more. With all that we think it’s fair to say 2012 has been a pretty good year.

But what can we expect from 2013? Well, if history has taught us anything, it won’t be more of the same. All we can do is to expect the unexpected.

So, be on the look out for more innovative features and designs from Buick and Chevrolet (Corvette C7? Buick Grand National?).

And don’t forget, College Chevrolet Buick is changing things up for 2013, too. Our new look showroom and service center will be completed next year! As always we’re working to provide you with the best customer service experience possible, so if you have anything you want to share don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, @CollegeChevy, for unique special offers and event information. And if you had an experience at College Chevrolet Buick that you’d like to share, review us on our Google+ page.

    Happy New Year Everyone!

  • The Detroit Lions Face Off Against St. Louis Rams in the Season Opener

It’s September, and here at College Chevrolet Buick, we all know what that means: it’s football season, and more importantly, it’s Lions season. The Detroit Lions will be facing off against the St. Louis Rams this Sunday, September 9, with kickoff at 1 p.m. The Lions will have the home field advantage at Ford Field.

The last time the two teams met was back in 2010 when the Lions destroyed the Rams with a crushing blow of 44-6. The Rams are coming off a 2-14 season while the Lions finished second in the NFC North last season with a 10-6 record. Even so, the Lions are still fully preparing for battle, as the Rams have changed up the roster with over 30 new players and a new coach, Jeff Fisher. Starting the season on the road is always difficult, and with the Rams facing an explosive Lions offense, featuring the receiver known as Megatron, or Calvin Johnson, things become that much more difficult.

Jim Schwartz, head coach of the Lions, recognized the adversity he will face against Fisher this Sunday: “[Jeff Fisher’s] teams are always tough. They’re always physical. They’re always well prepared. Traditionally they’ve always run the ball very well. But they’re adaptable. There were times in Tennessee where Eddie George was going to carry it 40 times a game. There was times when Steve McNair was going to throw it 40 times a game. Good coaching in the NFL is being able to adapt to your personnel and the situation that comes up. I think that’s probably the hallmark of what Jeff did. You can’t be around for 17 years unless you adjust and change. Run and shoot didn’t last 17 years, 46 defense didn’t last 17 years; you have to be able to adjust and change with personnel, within times, all those different things. He’s certainly done that.”

So who will take first blood this season? College Chevrolet Buick is counting on the Lions to bring victory to Michigan, but the fight to get there will most definitely be tough.
