• Mindi Tompkins. What’s Your Story?

    What's Your Story

This month we want to recognize one of our newest employees, Mindi Tompkins! Mindi is our new Office Assistant and has been a part of our team for just a few weeks. She is originally from Jackson, MI and attended Jackson College for school. She stays involved in the town by helping out with the Lumen Christi Cheer Team, as well as cheering on the Detroit Red Wings! When Mindi’s not helping cheer on a team, she enjoys watching Shameless or her favorite show of all time, The Bachelor.

When it comes to cars, the best vehicle Mindi has ever owned is her Kia Optima that she currently drives now. Her dream car would be a yellow Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible so she can cruise down California State Route 1 with the top down. If Mindi could pick her favorite car on our lot, she would choose between either the Chevy Impala or the 2500 Silverado Duramax in all black. Mindi has been around a variety of vehicles, which makes her a great asset to our team.

  • Buick Is Removing Its Badge for the 2019 Model Year

    Buick Badge

The “That’s Not a Buick” commercials might lead you to think that it’s hard to spot a Buick if you have a certain expectation, but if you know today’s modern and boldly styled Buick, you know one the moment you see it. It certainly doesn’t help when you know to look for the Buick name on vehicles like the Envision and Encore, but a report suggests that you might not have that badge to rely on much longer.

The eagle eyes at GM Authority noticed that the newly revealed 2019 Buick Envision was missing the Buick brand plate on the rear tailgate. They then reached out to Buick, who informed them that beginning with the 2019 model year, the Buick name will no longer appear in badge form on its vehicles.

Now, before you go panicking, keep in mind that this is just the Buick name—the hallmark tri-shield logo will remain intact, as will model name badging. Sure, that should be enough for you to register that you’re looking at a Buick, but it will certainly make it a bit more surprising for those not in the know when they discover that the handsome sedan, wagon, or SUV they spied on the road was, in fact, a Buick.

If you absolutely have to have the Buick name on your ride, then make haste—the Buicks found on the lot at College Chevrolet Buick will be the last to bear the name, so you’ll want to make sure you get one while the getting’s good.
