
With its advanced technology and design, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt is guaranteed to pick up some automotive awards. However, it recently received an award for a much more important reason.
According to a Chevrolet press release, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt was named Green Car of the Year.
The title is awarded by the Green Car Journal to a vehicle that makes strives to help improve the environment in some way.
The 2016 Chevrolet Volt certainly accomplishes that. The electric vehicle has impressive fuel efficiency, and has a range of up to 420 miles. Combine those and you get a car drivers don’t have to refill until nearly 1,000 miles are traveled.
“Chevrolet’s all-new Volt is a milestone, building on an already-technologically advanced ‘green’ car and delivering what buyers have longed for, including an impressive 53-mile driving range on a single charge,” said Ron Cogan, editor and publisher of Green Car Journal and CarsOfChange.com.
