    A few months ago, Chevrolet announced ago that they would be including 4G LTE abilities to some models for the 2015 model year. At the DENT Conference in Idaho, Buick announced that they too would be offering 4G LTE. With this new technology, drivers will be able to turn their car into a mobile hotspot allowing internet surfing and web browsing from inside the vehicle.

    4G LTE will be available through OnStar and will require a subscription and data plan, although prices have not yet been determined. The hotspot will be able to allow up to seven devices to connect simultaneously giving each of your passengers internet access from their own devices. Along with internet, this new addition will offer in-dash app integration and also connect you to your vehicle diagnostics.

    For the 2015 model year, the LaCrosse, Regal, Verano, and Encore are said to have LTE capabilities and all 2016 Buick models will include the new feature.

  • GM Executives Tease “Possible” Buick Flagship

    While GM has been busy working on a Cadillac flagship sedan—most likely to be called the LTS, a name recently trademarked by GM—they might also be preparing a flagship vehicle for the Buick brand. Mark Reuss, President of GM for North America, first teased the idea in a recent interview with Forbes. Reuss discussed how GM could close gaps in their overall automobile lineup; when the idea of a Buick flagship surfaced, he hinted that it could be “a much more beautiful Panamera.”

    While CEO Dan Akerson wants to be careful that a Buick flagship doesn’t step on the toes of the Cadillac brand’s resurgence, even he admitted that Buick could “probably” use a new flagship. Reuss, for his part, told Auto News that “something special for Buick, I think, is really needed for the next phase of where that brand is going.”

    Regardless of if and when Buick might add a flagship to its lineup, one thing remains clear: GM continues its commitment to strengthening Buick’s status as a powerful global brand.   • Buick Records Best October Sales Since 2003

    October marked Buick’s 18th consecutive month of increased U.S. retail sales, bringing the brand ever-closer to a two-year streak of success. Retail sales were at a 25% year-over-year gain—a record since 2003—and total sales were at a 31% gain—a record since 2004.

    The Buick Regal continued its trend of increasing sales by posting a 47% total increase year-over-year, showing that the model is not only an established member of the sports luxury vehicle market but also a strong competitor among the likes of BMW and Mercedes. A refreshed version of the 2014 Regal will begin arriving this month here at College Chevrolet Buick.

    The all-new Encore not only sold over 3,000 units this month but also racked up several awards, including “Highest Ranked Subcompact CUV,” in J.D. Power’s Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout Study, “Highest Ranked Subcompact CUV in Initial Quality (in a tie),” and a 2013 Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
