Earlier this year at the SEMA Show, Chevrolet unveiled a sinister and totally cool-looking Impala Blackout Concept, which as you might guess from the name, was styled almost entirely in black.
Ever since, we’ve been wondering whether we’d find a production version in our showroom at College Chevrolet Buick, and now we have the answer: yes. According to Steve Majoros, Chevy’s marketing director for cars and crossovers, the Impala concept will arrive as a production model within four or five months.
It won’t carry the Blackout nametag, however, instead being called the Impala Midnight Edition, which we think sounds a lot classier. Rest assured, it won’t look any less dark. Nearly everything will have been blacked-out compared to the regular Impala, including the grille, bowtie logo, mirror caps, rear spoiler, leather-trimmed interior, and wheels.
It’ll be powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine rated at 305 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque. See you in five months!
