The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was recently named Four Wheeler Magazine’s 2014 Pickup Truck of the Year. We aren’t surprised as the all-new Silverado has been winning awards left and right.
To come to their conclusion the trucks up for the award were put through a variety of terrain and other challenges to test the strengths and weaknesses of the trucks. Each truck was then scored through Four Wheeler Magazine’s intense scoring system. Points were awarded based on the following categories: Trail Performance (worth 30% of final score), Empirical (worth 25% of final score), On Pavement (worth 20% of final score), Interior (worth 15%), and Exterior (worth 10%).
The testing took place in California, where there was multiple terrains to experience. The other competitors included a RAM 2500 and a Toyota Tundra. The winning Silverado was a 1500 LTZ Z71 Crew Cab. Four Wheeler Magazine said that the Silverado was fun to drive off-road, the interior of the cabin offered a modern quality feel, and they liked the advanced features of the truck bed (step in the back bumper was dually noted!). The magazine also liked the smooth on-road ride that the Silverado had to offer.
The Silverado deserved the first-place finish from Four Wheeler Magazine! To experience the 2014 Silverado for yourself, be sure to stop by our dealership in Albion, Michigan for a test drive!
