Chevy Spark Celebrates Earth Day

On April 22nd each year, the world celebrates Earth Day. Earth Day is a day to recognize and reinvigorate efforts designed to keep Mother Nature strong. Chevrolet has done this in a plethora of ways, including bringing the Chevy Spark to the United States.

Chevy Spark EV was recently touted as the most efficient U.S. retail electric vehicle. With an electric range an EPA estimated 82 miles, the 2014 Spark EV is the benchmark in electric vehicles.

The sporty 2014 Chevy Spark EV will go on sale in California and Oregon this summer.

While College Chevy won’t be one of the initial retailers of the Spark EV, the advances in technology are certainly worth discussing.

“The Chevrolet Spark EV is a great city car which blends technology, functionality and style in an unexpected package” said Cristi Landy, director of Chevrolet small and electrified vehicle marketing. “We built on the success of the Volt and the gas-powered Spark to offer an affordable, fun and efficient mini car our customers will love to drive.”

We’re unsure of exactly the type of innovations that will come from this type of technology, but we can see Chevrolet has continued to work toward a more fuel-efficient and environmentally friendly automobile. With GM Earth Day doesn’t just last one day, it’s a 365 a day event and the Chevy Spark EV is a great example of that.
